health rules for a beauty salon?

a few weeks ago I took my mother to a "new for her" salon. During my wait i noted the stylist dropped the comb while working on a client at least twice, picking it up and continuing to work on the client. I was thinking anytime a comb is dropped on the floor it must go into that disinfectant thing. Also there were piles of hair everywhere around her work station and I'm talking it had had to be there for at least 3-4 clients before this woman. Is that a violation too. Also when the woman got up from the chair the mats around the chair were old and worn and looking like they needed replacing but the matter was it was apparently so slick she skidded. Am I just being picky or is this a place with major issues.

as a hairstylist... i say ..i would have left after she used that comb again! dont go back there..and you should report the salon... very unsanitary ! as much bleep bleep we had to go through with rules and laws and sanitation! dont ever question your feelings regarding your health or exposure to unsanitary conditions...
